Coronavirus is not the reason for temporarily stopping production of the Audi E-Tron

Audi has provided teasers for its upcoming e-tron, but the car maker has quietly halted production of the standard model. Production stopped last Thursday to "solve production problems, including the problem of supplying batteries." While a number of automakers have had to stop production recently, this does not appear to be linked to the Corona virus, which has shocked many car companies.

Instead, the problem appears to be relatively simple as production is slated to resume within hours after stopping. This delay is very short, despite its simplicity, but it caused the latest decline in vehicle production. And last summer, Audi had to recall 1,644 cars because of the potential fire hazard. No incidents were reported, but the company found that moisture could enter the battery and cause short circuit or fire.

In addition to the recall, the e-tron did not achieve much success in sales. Last year, the company sold nearly 26,400 units, which dwindled compared to Tesla's sales. However, it is important to note that the e-tron is still relatively new, and Audi introduced new standard and new releases Sportback late last year. The automaker also improved the e-tron 55 Quattro versions by increasing the range of the car by 25 km.
